Saw this on tv. It was funny as hell when the judge sentenced him and the two deputies were standing right behind him then slapped the cuffs on. :): The judge even went the extra mile and made him say he worked as a server at TGIF

    "worked" being the key word.

Stupid? Yes. Offensive? To some, but not nearly as offensive as the arbitrary and capricious exercise of power often seen in such contempt sentences.

Kings? We have no more, but petty fiefdoms abound.

This is such a wonderful example of the responsible and effective use of our criminal justice system.

I am so glad that my tax dollars are being used to imprison these sorts of heinous criminals.

I don't understand how him giving the dude a middle finger could threaten the Casey Anthony Case. How so?
Any way it was a stupid move but maybe the judge was a little harsh.

6 days for flipping the bird certainly doesn't bode well for Casey's sentencing.

Casey will be convicted of something and whatever that may be, she'll probably be getting the maximum end of the recommendation.

    LESSON!

lesson no. 1: When in a courtroom, as guest of the state, behave like you
would expect a guest in your home to behave.

lesson no. 2: When offered an opportunity to give an excuse for
your poor behavior, produce one, no matter how bad an excuse it may be.
Do not under any circumstances persistently repeat "I apologize"
when given such an opportunity. "I apologize" is not a excuse.

lesson no. 3: After graduating high school, flipping off cameras
ceases to be cool. It becomes a misdemeanor, in Florida.

lesson no. 4: Smart alec waiters at TGIF are not really very good judges of acceptable behaviour in a courtroom nor all that bright and witty as they think they are. Look else where for legal advice, like some internet messege board. ROTFL:dunno:

Judges have a duty to maintain and protect the dignity and decorum of their courtrooms and are armed with the power of contempt to carry out this duty.

Lesson No. 5: courts are for the civilized. If you are court, act civilized. If you act like a savage you will find yourself in a bunch of trouble and you won't be laughing it up with your buddies.
