We require NRA Basic Pistol for anyone wanting to take our defensive pistol course at Indy Gun Safety. We don't care where they get it, as long as their basics are solid. I had a student today that was trained by Guy at TFT. His safety basics were solid which is a great relief to me when we start running & shooting, doing holster draws, etc. We don't have time in that course to retrain the basics.

Of course he would have been even BETTER had he done his basic pistol with us! :D

Nice job at keeping the bar where it needs to be, Guy.

What does your defensive pistol course entail?

Intro to RSO commands and shot timer, mechanics of holster draws, shooting on the move, shooting from retention, using cover and concealment, tactical priorities, reloads, etc. Safety basics need to be down pat before we start doing stuff like this.
