Just purchased the Colt/Walther 1911 rail. Real nice feel and no issues with bulk ammo yet. Overall, I really like it but have some concerns with how well the finish will hold up.

I have one that says colt on it but I think is made by walther. Its the government style and is really nice.

I know rock island has one out that gives you a 45 1911 and a .22 conversion kit. That might be something to look at as it gives you an extra 45.

Every once in a while I get the 1911 itch and the part that stops me is that I remember how much it costs to feed one so I've done some research on the 1911 22lr's and generally speaking what sounds like the best gun for the money is the GSG from my reading on the internet. If I were to go buy a 1911 22lr today it'd be a GSG/Sig. On the other hand, I have a S&W M&P 22 and I'm pretty happy with that. At a whopping 12rds in the magazine it's the highest capacity 22lr pistol I'm aware of.

    Colt/Walther has a 12 rd mag!
