Hey guys I've been searching around for a super-cheap 1911 so that I can customize it to the style I would like, but I'm having a hard time finding a cheap 1911 in black that includes a beaver tail.

I want to keep the price around $400, but that in itself is almost impossible. Is there any way to buy a cheap 1911-22 and convert it to a .45ACP?

I think most (all?) of the dedicated .22 1911s are made specially for the .22 round and there's no way (without spending more than you would on a basic .45, anyhow) to do so..

Anybody is welcome to prove me wrong, of course!
