I finally finished getting my 9mm Colt back together tonight. I didn’t start fitting the new parts until late in the day and as things were wrapping up, I was just finishing fitting the safety to the new sear. I still had to fit the trigger and clearance the grip safety for the new hammer. Those got done tonight and it’s sitting at a nice comfortable 4# for that gun.
It might be time to fit a beaver tail grip safety and extended thumb safety but I think I’ll just shoot it for a while and see.
I have an A2 that was with me Saturday (EDC) and just brought home a Valor.
Saw your pics of the Valor...and that is one stellar piece
I brought home a NightHawk from the workshop as well. I can find absolutely nothing either one really needs, yet.
FIFY
The disconnecter ramp cut on both of course. Magwell and grips on the NH.
Thats it my friend.
Figured you could not leave them untouched
Simple mods. You have felt how the ramp cut smooths the action of the slide.
You can not see it and unless you are tuned in you may never even feel it.
So many are not in tune with their hand guns.
Yeah, I need to have AllenM do mine. So much to do on this project.
I got to test fire mine after work today, trigger is great. Thanks you CM and Allen
If you do another one in January, I'll do my RO, maybe I'll clean it before going.
If you have another one of these I would love to come. You really don't know what you don't know. Rubbing elbows with all these guys was amazing!
As it turns out, 2 of my guns didn't pass the "hammer following the slide" test
...knowing in a pinch i can use a spent .45 casing as a plug for my gi set up.
Is that really true?
It isnt a perfect solution, the shape of the casing can allow the barrel bushing to rotate.
