Got these in a recent trade & cannot find anything like them anywhere .They appear to be real ivory & followed some tips on how to tell the difference from bone or plastic (smells like burnt hair was the biggie), the carving shows a elephant attacking a lion in case anyone is wondering or it dont show clearly due to the flash. I plan on keeping them & installing on my new 1911 but waiting for some low profile grip bushings

Ive looked online for things to look for in ivory & it has all the tell tale signs .Found it interesting to say the least , natural patterning lines on the back, yellowing (which I thought at first may be nicotine ) imperfect checkering & the panel carvings are done individually (look the same but not identical like you would find in plastic casting) but would like to find a second opinion from some one possibly knowledgeable

If they ARE ivory... I'd not install them on a "shooter" gun.

A BBQ piece / display gun, for sure. But not a shooter!
