Well I was on the quest once again for a 1911-
Owned several throughout the years to include-
Kimbers, Springfields, Colts, Taurus and like everything else-I eventually sold them to fund other projects.
The Kimber out the box shot horrible and the sights were way off-
I actually had someone try at the gun shop to adjust them, couldnt even get the screw loosened to attempt adjustment-Had to send it in!
Springfield was the GI model, had some FTF's in the beginning-pretty plain and boring-no frills!
Colt was nice! Never shot it, just ended up selling!
The Taurus actually shot real well, no problems, just moved on!
So I was curious about the new Remington R1's-
So I went looking, had the chance to play with, fondle and admire the Remington's-affordable price and not a bad overall weapon. Out of the three I played with, one had no play and locked up tight! I think for the price they are going to give people a chance to own a 1911 without breaking the bank.
However, I just couldnt seem to drop the cash for one! Call it a gut feeling but, it just didnt happen!
Well since I was shopping around, I looked at pretty much every 1911 at the gun shop! It just so happens that when I go shopping I cant come home empty handed and thats what happened...
I ended up with a Smith & Wesson Model SW1911PD!
I usually shop around and then go home and try to read reviews, check pricing, etc. But I surely didnt do any of this time...
I got a great deal and went with it!
Specs:
Caliber: .45ACP

Well I went straight from the shop to the range-
and I must say that the S&W shot perfectly!!
I was shooting 230gr. FMJ's but it ate up everything I fed it!
Recoil was nice and the gun shot like a dream!
I am more than satisfied with my purchase and the performance of the Smith!
Thanks for listening!
