1911 or ????

It is a few months away but employer gives bonuses in April and I am thinking about treating myself to new toy. Currently own S&W M&P22, Beretta 92FS & RIA 1911. Thinking about a good 1911 9mm for possible competition. And since I don't reload, it would be less costly.

Been thinking about a STI Talon. Any other suggestions? Limit will be $1200 - $1300.

At the moment I'm enamored with my Rock Island that is chambered for 9MM and 22TCM. Not nearly as much money as you are talking about but so far it's functioned flawlessly with both barrels and the 22TCM is a hoot. It's the only full size 1911 I have and the only double stack. Also my only 1911 in 9mm but just too enjoyable to shoot. I have a couple of hi end 1911s and the RI isn't up to Wilson combat standards but for the money a great piece.

I'm with you, on the RIA, great shooters, and not the safe queen entry money.

Sprinfield Loaded SS 1911 in 9MM. Mine is one I will never sell.
