I have a quick question. Today I was offered a Taurus pt1911 (basic blued with out the rail) with box, paper work, and 2 factory mags. The guy wants $450 cash for it. Its in good condition. 90-95%. What would you do?

    There you are.
I bought one six months ago and so far I love it. I know people talk trash about them sometimes, but so far mine has been flawless.
My local shop has the blued ones for $499.00-$520.00. He sells tons of them. I bought mine used ,a duo tone finish. It was basically new, had no scratches of any kind inside or out.

$450 is a bit salty for me on a used one. I would offer him $425. :)

But for the money, they are good pistols... and I'm not fan of Taurus firearms, but their 1911's seem to be pretty solid.

Ask why he's selling it... If he says he needs the money, then you have the commodity and can use that to your advantage. Even at 450 I think it's a good deal, definately try to sweeten it though. I own that same pistol. Love it. Zero malfuntions so far.
