I'm sold on the 357 sig. I like the Sig Fastback Nightmare. Anyone have one? Any opinions on the full size vs. the commander (carry) size? I'm sold on the cartridge - not asking for your opinion of that vs 45 ACP.

Have you yet invested anything in the cartridge?

Planning on more than one platform for the cartridge?

Want to reload / reload for anything else already?

    Have you considered .38 Super?

Really not trying to derail your thread - I'm sure Sig makes a fine 1911. And the .357 Sig cartrdige (loaded properly!) is a heck of a thing.

I had the full size Nightmare and it was a great gun. Super accurate.
Sig 1911's are a different breed so 99% of regular 1911 holsters won't fit. that's the only thing I didn't care for.
I would still have it, but I traded it and another gun for a Les Baer 1911

AllenM had a bobtail commander build in .357 Sig. I believe it was a Fusion kit he assembled with his custom touches here and there. He can give you an honest assessment of the 357 Sig in a 1911 platform.

I have a sig 1911 scorpion and its my favorite pistol right now. But yes you will be limited in holsters. This is not my EDC so I don't really care about the lack of holsters.

The holster issue is only an issue when shopping locally for brand names. Those are generally mediocre holsters anyway. Order a Kramer Scabbard in horsehide and you'll have one of the best holsters out there for the Sig.

357 SIG is why I stopped carrying a .45. A lot of people dismiss the 357 SIG as a novelty round, but it packs more punch than a 9mm, more barrier penetration than a .40, and more capacity than a .45. 357 SIG out of a 1911 would be interesting.
