    Very cool.

    Every time I see a picture of this pistol I think about how much it would look like a modern subcompact if the barrel was just chopped off.

    Pretty crazy considering it is over 60 years old.

    I'm sure that somewhere out there, someone did just that. Just like the first compact revolver was probably just a chopped down single action cap and ball revolver that formerly had a 6 or 8 inch barrel.

    There were some factory made and imported. I have seen one. I can't remember who carried one but there was a tv show or movie from the 60's where the main character had the chopped P38 and it looked cool. The one I held felt great.
