For sale is a 1951 Russian SKS. This is a Tula made rifle, and has been through an arsenal refurbed. 1951 was the first year for a chrome lined barrel, and is one of the more rare years of Russian SKS.

All numbers match from what I can tell.

There are only 2 things "wrong" with the rifle IMO:

    1) It doesn't have the original 10 round magazine, only a 30 round steel mag shown in the pics.
    2) The stock reinforcement bolt /recoil lug is missing. I have no idea why its gone, but it is. Maybe needed to be removed to fit the mag?

If it wasn't for these things I would keep it, but I've only got the desire for 1 sks, and that means I've got to be picky ;)

Its in good shape. There are a few normal handling marks, and the bolt has some discoloration, but nothing bad at all.

$400 firm or will consider trade for compact 9mm handgun.

Not to sound rude or anything but sks models with a star with a 1 in the center are Vietnamese copy's of the sino-soviet sks, however they are still quite rare.

Thats not a 1, its an arrow.

Though I've not seen a Vietnamese sks, I'm fairly familiar with Russian markings, and Im pretty sure this is Russian. I could how ever be wrong, and if I were, Im find with it and might even consider keeping it ;)

As an update, I found a fixed 10 round magazine for the rifle and have installed it. The numbers don't match (talk about a needle in a haystack!) but it's functional and looks pretty decent.
