SOLD to a wonderful member who will give it a good home!
$800
S&W 17-4 K22 MASTERPIECE with box & 5 tools
.22LR caliber, 6 round, 6" barrel
Overall, this is a full-sized target revolver.
Classic Smith lines are represented with a deep blue finish.
I'd always wanted a SW 617 & was thrilled to get this 1981 17-4.
A really beautiful gun bought from a trusted INGO member May 2020.
I have put about 350 rounds through it.
There wasn't even a turn line when I bought it, but now I'm proud to say there is a slight one.
D/A trigger is so smooth I can get on bullseye as well if not better than in S/A mode: unbelievable!
This S&W 17-4 comes pinned & recessed, wide target hammer, wide target trigger, target grips with original box, papers and 5 tools.
The combo of the target trigger, hammer, and grips is less common and much sought after.
The Model 17 has the case-hardened steel trigger and hammer which provides a nice contrast.
The hammer being a target hammer is nice & wide and well checkered, making it easy to pull back.
While the grips are correct, they are stamped August 24, 1985 but the serial# dates it to 1981 (94K8XXX???).
I painted the front iron sight with red fluorescent gun paint to help me see it better.
If you don't prefer that, you can easily take it off with solvent.
Disclaimer: imperfection above trigger/under back of cylinder (see close up 3rd pic of left side where hammer, cylinder release, trigger, rear sights & top of grips)
Specs:
Length = 11.3
Barrel Length = 6"
Weight = 39.9 oz.
Rear Sight = Micro Adjustable
Action = Single/Double Action
Grip = Wood
Cylinder, Barrel & Frame Material = Carbon Steel
Must have IN driver's license & LTCH.
I live in Wanamaker, SE of Indy, outside E465 above Greenwood
