I'm a little confused about the wording of this stimulus.

Some places I see $500 per dependent.
Other places I see $500 per child under 17.

So what happens if I have 4 children living with me, still school age, but one is 18 and another is 17.

Are they now considered adults and will be given $1200 each?

Welp, my son lost his job today because of the shutdowns so....

I've been down that road 3 times myself in the past. First time I was 20, so, just about his age. It's never any fun at all and I'm sorry to hear about it. I think you said they kept him on longer than most so hopefully they'll call him back first too.

Hope you all enjoy my money. You are welcome.

Amazing how just the tip of socialism is perfectly OK.

    Free money, my shiny metal....

I really hope this should have been in purple. I guess you and big red can look down from on high.

Its my money too OK. It is all of the actual taxpayers money.

Thanks for the kind words, all. It will eventually work out for him. For now, he is making a go of it where he is now (Northern Kentucky), he doesn’t like the idea of taking a step back, but he knows he is welcome back here.

It is a net loss for all of us. You and I and all of our children will owe $6000 each, for every $1000 you receive. While some few people might feel "stimulated", the dollar is only going to be devalued more.

This is not our wonderful government returning our hard-earned money. This is NEW spending, incurring either NEW debt or the printing of NEW money, thereby devaluing what dollars you already have.

This is nothing but election year pandering, and the government picking winners and losers. It is everything we fear. Yet... we cheer.

I can certainly see what those that disagree with this plan are talking about. It'd just be nice if those who disagree would not try to paint everyone who does agree in some sort of negative fashion.

Oh I am not cheering at all. I am pretty much deeply Pi$$ed off at the dog and pony show we have been watching for almost 4 years now.
I do know (unfortunately) some who are wringing their hands in anticipation of more free :poop:
But I have to admit that getting something back for all the years they rapped us on our taxes (And I do mean rapped) puts a wry smile on my face but then reality creeps in and the smile fades.

One ****ing Republican (Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.) may delay the house vote today. :xmad: Instead of the agreed upon voice vote (remotely), he's wanting to force a floor vote, meaning at least 216 members would have to be present on the floor of the House. WTAF...

Seems ridiculous in this day and age that they have to be present to actually record a real registered to their voting record, vote.

Of course, maybe getting them all in one place with the current state of things could really help clear out the swamp... especially if we don't divert any Covid test kits to them that need to go elsewhere.

Another instance where we need a "light purple"...

There's a thread on Reddit with a chart showing where this $2T is going.

I can't say if it's accurate or not, but it is interesting.

The image probably won't work, but I'll try:

I certainly dont know what your sons work capability is, but I do know that Walmart stores and Distribution Centers are hiring BIG Time right now. Forklift operators start at 19 and change, beats unemployment and moving back home.
    Good Luck to your son...

Thanks. He is young and healthy and willing to work. The hope is that the layoff is temporary and he is in a position to handle a month off without an issue, maybe more, but, of course, would like to earn money and not wear his emergency fund out.
