I called there a few days ago when I saw this thread and was told that they only had the .270, and the price was $349.

When I heard about the clearance I thought about going to a couple stores to look for Savage rimfires, but then I remembered my last experience trying to buy a gun at a Walmart was something akin to Helen Keller playing tennis.

Back in the day they called me about 4 times in a week to tell me I'd been approved and could pick up my shotgun. I decided I'd better go pick it up before they lost it or gave it to someone else. Too late. Took them almost two hours to find it. I've been a little wary of Wally Mart's sporting goods "experts" since then.

I was a little disappointed in my RAR. My 10/22 is more accurate, has more customization options, and less expensive. For me, the bolt was too stiff for a modern bolt action rifle. I think a Savage Mk II would have been a better option. I can't speak for the centerfire Ruger Americans though as I have never fired one.
