    My 2010 Effort

With OBR, this guy is my 2010 effort. Couldn't be happier, I'm just going to miss buck hunting the next two weeks, the best two weeks of my year. This guy was about 15 minutes late trying to sneak back into his hideout on Halloween, and I was fortunate enough to bag him. There's another thread with the story, but here's the 205 lb, 155" 2010 effort:

Fourth antlerless of the season shot on the morning of Saturday, November 6:

    November_6_2010_Doe_Resize.jpg

The evening of that same day, I arrowed a nice 10-pointer, but obviously hit one lung only, as I never recovered him. The blood trail consisted of foamy blood, and we found three separate bloody beds, but no buck. Last blood was approximately 1/2 mile from shot location. All I have to show for the buck is its photo:

Keep an eye out for the vultures, they'll point you where to look, I'd atleast want that rack even though the meat is by far spoiled now.

After 3 days in the woods, finally got a buck. Nice 8 point. The pictures don't do justice to his size. Not the biggest I have ever harvested, but still a very nice deer!!! And yes, I still use the Remington 870 20 gauge my dad gave me when I was 13. Still puts them down!!!

I got shut out while trying to use the bow over my vacation but the lever action put 2 on the ground for me. Took a yearling doe opening morning and a button buck this morning. My nephew took a nice 8 pointer opening morning.

I was out this past weekend on my first deer hunt, and I'm am very happy with the results. It was a perfect weekend.

There was so much going on that I hardly remembered to stop and take pictures, but I did grab a couple of quickies with my cell phone...

My first deer. Taken Saturday morning at 10:35AM. He weighed 144 at the check station after field dressing.

Hunted KY opening weekend - 3deer. Doubled up Sat am, and Sun am about 10min into hunting hours saw a doe a ~120yds and shot her; OK antlerless tags filled - onto a good buck. My partner took a good 8. At quiting time for the morning we went and recovered our animals. We take care of his first; he got to mine first and "I have bad news".........

The side with the broken antler was facing me - I couldn't see the other one.

I killed two does with my bow as well. I'm taking my girls out next weekend to let them shoot a couple does too.

Here's a Half rack 3pt i passed up On opening morning Saturday. I thought about it but I wanted a bigger one for my First deer. He had a nice size body but his rack was small. I know i shoulda shot him but He was just cruising thru. I watched him for about 15 minutes.

Got a "small basket 8 pt" Sunday that weighed in about 130# dressed with my Marlin 44 Mag. Not a huge buck, but good for the freezer. Need a good sized doe to keep it company.
    Congrats to all!

I posted this in another thread about opening morning, but thought I would stick it here too, as I am still pretty stoked about it. Both the yote and the Buck were taken Sunday morning with the marlin 44.
