Someone ask about favorite turkey gun on a previous post.
Well, my cheapo Stevens 301, 410 did it again this morning with
#9 TSS. 33 yards, & he never moved.
That's 4 years running, from 30 to 40 yards a very affective load

I've always considered trying a 410 with some of the new tungsten loads. Just never got around to testing it out yet. That ammo is sure salty, but I guess you should only need a one or two per year once you get it dialed in.

The gun is nearly meaningless, and is really just a prop. The choke/turkey load combo are what seals the deal. I shoot a Carlson`s 0.665 constriction choke with Federal 3rd Degree 12 gauge turkey loads, and at 50 yards, the pattern is devastating.
