My son picked up a CMMG .22 conversion kit for his AR this week $189. It was working well until yesterday when the firing pin broke. The kit has only about 300 rounds through it. I know they are basically the Ciener kit and almost identical to some of the others out there. But has anyone ever had any experience with the customer service from CMMG? Anyone else had any issues like this, either CMMG or others?

I've always heard that the CMMG and Spike's kits were more desirable over the older designed Ceiner.

I've also heard horror stories about Ceiner customer service.

Give them a call and see what happens. Be sure to report back to us here too.

    Atchisson-Ciener© - Firing Pin

Blackdog is Another option, I personally wouldn't bother with an oem replacement.

These work awesome, no issues after many thousands of rounds fired.
They also offer an excellent extractor and a reduced power spring kit that may help with misfires and extend the life of the firing pin even further.

Go here: CMMG Inc - AR15.COM

and find the CMMG guy and send him a PM. They seem to be real reactive to any issues especially with the conversions. I have a stainless one with just over a 1000rds through it without issue.(should have about 250 or more through it at the end of the day :-) )

Lets list what ammo is running good in your cmmg's.

Federal red box american eagle stuff is doing the best in mine. Not perfect but ok. Rem bulk gold pack is horrible.

I'm curious to see what answers this gets on ammo. I borrowed one from a friend and with the 550box of federals it grouped very poorly.
