Federal .22 LR 510 count $24.95 and tax at Indiana Gun Club yesterday. That works out to a nickel a round. Several bricks available.

I realize we're not in panic mode (yet) but thought this was a good price.

Yes, and when I was was growing up gas was 25 cents a gallon and bread was a nickel a loaf !

Let the government keep printing money or elect Hillary (or both) and see how good a nickel a round looks.

Just thought I'd try to help some folks out who might need some ammo.

I'm not going to run over and buy any but it's nice to see it at least for a nickel a round. I still hardly see it where I am, and when I do the price isn't that low.

The only box that is 550 is the walmart exclusive brown box. Everyone else gets the blue 525 count box. I've never heard of a 510 count box. :dunno:

Federal does have a model #510, though.

Maybe the OP could post a pic of the box.......

Wow, didn't know I would start such a firestorm.

To demonstrate my ignorance, after having a better look at the .22 LR carton, here is what I found I bought:

Federal - blue and silver box.
    40 gr. Solid Lubricated Lead
    Muzzle velocity 1240 fps
    Cartridges Small Arms
    ORM-D

500 (five hundred) rim fire cartridges (cartouches)

Price - $24.95 pretax American funds.

In my defense the box does have the number 510 on it. Have no idea what that may designate.

So . . . . . If anyone here is looking for some .22 ammo here is some !

*I would post a pic of the box but I've never been able to figure out how. Six unsuccessful attempts to do so in the for sale section has only resulted in me getting six warnings from the mods, the last warning was a second level.

That's as cheap as I've heard. Atterbury had a brick of some brand for 40 bucks a few weeks ago. Had several bricks. Too much money for my taste...but it was at least a brick. It was a known name...not some weird off brand I'd never heard of before.

I saw .22 LR ammo at the local Meijer yesterday. First time in years I've seen any rimfire ammo for sale there. It was some brand I'd never seen or heard about. They wanted $5.95 for a box of 50! Crazy.

Was lucky enough to get a Winchester M22 1000 round bulk pack at Walmart in Clinton, Wednesday evening. I keep hearing about 22LR becoming available, but the only places that I see it available are stores and LGS that charge over $5.00 a box of 50.
Amboy49 is correct. It is not easy to post photos on this forum.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I was in Cabelas north of Cincinatti last weekend and they had a wider variety and more 22 ammo than I have seen in years. Probably 20 buckets of Remington 1400 count and an entire 5' shelving unit of other brands and types. Typical Cabelas pricing but was pleased to see it around.

Most of the time you can find CCI standard velocity 22 long rifle at Gander Mountain 100 rounds for about $8. They still limit you to 5 packages.
I am not trying to change the subject of the post but has anyone seen any crimped 22 shotshells anywhere in Central Indiana?
