2nd Amendment isn't about protection from tyrannical government

The whole point as far as I'm concerned is not the fact that ordinary citizens will be taking on the military and who would be victorious, the fact is the RTKBA acts as a deterrence to make those in power think twice about unleashing all the chaos on the country that would ensue if that were to happen.

That is the check the 2nd Amendment provides and why it must be upheld, IMO.

funny thing.. the author of this article is a ass. professor at Marian University, where i attend. although i have not had him, but have heard about his liberal slanted views that strongly rub off in his teachings. several of the profs there have problems with their views impacting what and how they teach IMO and i cant stand it

And another point. He mentions we are crazy to think we could fight the military. It has never occurred to him that we "ARE" the military? How many soldiers would REFUSE to fire on American citizens? My hope is the majority. And then what? Is Barry going to use the UN to enforce his Socialist State? At that point you have foriegn troops fighting well armed, well trained, guerrilla groups fighting for their homes on terrain that they know like the back of their hand. Still not an ideal situation but the odds just added a little more in our favor.
