    What vette said. FWIW, I have used one on my ML for the last several years for deer season, but all of my shots are within 160-170yds where I hunt.

    IMO, 2-7x feels OK on a 3-4" target out to 150-200yds, but as I get closer to 300yds I have a harder time feeling comfortable with placement on live targets (paper is easier since I have a much better feel of the physical dimensions.)

    Thats what I'm running on my .458 SOCOM for deer/hogs. Seems to work rather well.... the two deer I shot didn't complain.:D
