Yup, :D that's right while at work today i spotted three gentleman carrying in various degrees of concealment! :rockwoot: I was excited and pleased to see my fellow citizens exercising their rights! I work at a particular sporting goods store that rhymes with stick's and had two customers today who were both carrying and then saw a gentleman in the food court as well.

After the first gun packin fellow left my area i mentioned to a fellow associate and friend that he had been carrying, hoping to start an educated discussion. My co-worker flipped out. He didn't even know it was legal to carry a gun! We had an interesting talk, but it boiled down to him being scared :runaway: of guns all together, for no other reason than the news and tv. :bash:

Just thought I'd share... kinda made my day. :dunno:

But...but...but...There's a SIGN! It says "no firearms"! I'm afraid I just can't believe that someone would disobey a sign.

/tempted to go to "Stick's" today...

It catches me off guard when I hear so many people do not know it's legal to carry. Those folks assume you must be LEO of some sort or you are illegal if you have a gun on.

I grew up around a Dad and others who regularly were armed and meant business if something happened. I'm a lifelong IN resident and knew that we weren't a gun-banning state.

Is your co-worker a transplant from another state?

Unfortunately too many people are uneducated about gun laws.

"Hey look at the new AK-47 I just bought".

Response: "Is that legal? How much did it cost? Where did you get it?"

The media has bastardized all assortments of guns it's terrible. The normal persons response is just like the little drones in Grand Theft Auto when they see you (the character) with a gun. They put their arms up in the air and run around like idiots going "AHAHHAHAHAHHAAAAAAA".

It's awesome when you "make" somebody carrying!
It sort of feels like you figured out the secret knock for the private club! :D
First time I noticed, it was a preacher.

In 2004 there were over 300,000 Hoosiers with their carry permits, that put 1 in 15 were legally able to be packing heat.

With the current nationwide trends of more and more people carrying it could be 1 in 10 now.

I'm an Illinois resident with a carry permit -valid in 22 states other than mine, of course. (IN is included in those 22)

I wish we could get Chicago/Cook County to secede! (Or should I use the "correct terms" : "Socialist Republik of Chicago and Crook County".):lmfao:

Not to detract from what has been said, but there are a lot of people with really crummy judgment and I am not so sure I would want them to carry. I guess it's is pessimistic to say, but I think some folks may never be trustworthy. Just a thought.

Unfortunately, there are already many of those out there. (Father/mother kills children to "punish" other parent, father loses job, so he kills wife & kids to "prevent suffering" , etc) And that doesn't even include the criminals who will always do it regardless of the law.

Recently I had three gentlemen in my store. I noticed a very nice Hi-Power stuffed in one fellows belt, somewhat covered by an untucked shirt. As none of them spoke much English. I felt rather certain that a carry permit was not in his wallet. But I could be wrong. Needless to say I felt the pressure of my own carry gun a little more strongly than I would normally notice it.

I mean no slur but it was rather funny that this fellow would opt for a Mexican carry option.

As, I almost always agree with Rhino. I too assume that everyone is carrying.

I feel that way when I carry with a tuckable IWB. You can't tell, unless you know to look for those clips on the belt.

I have a question. Do they make holsters that clip onto the belt-line of jeans? I don't wear a belt and would prefer not to. Also, do you have to buy your pants a size larger so that the gun will fit inside?
(In case you haven't noticed already, I'm new at this.)

They do, however you're going to find out pretty quickly, a 2 pound pistol hanging off the top edge of your jeans is "The Suck." A good belt is paramount to good concealment.

Comp-Tac makes three types of clips for their IWB holsters.
the first is a standard clip that surrounds your belt, similar to your cell phone clip. The second is called the C-Clip, it goes over the edge of your pants, between the fabric and your belt, and then has a small tab that fits just above and just below the belt.

Finally is the J-Clip, which goes between the pants and belt, but has Velcro on the Belt-side edge. You put the matching half of a Velcro strip on your belt where it matches the holster. (Many purpose built gun belts, have Velcro on them for exactly this reason)

A good gun belt doesn't have to look Tactical at all. Mine looks like a standard black leather belt, with chrome(ish) hardware. It's actually about twice as thick as any belt I've ever owned, and has a strip of Kydex between the two strips of leather.

Thanks for the information. I'll check them out. Maybe I'll look for a good purse as well, so I'll have options.
