I have the urge to get a Krag. Not sure why, but I just do.

What should I look for when I get one. I noticed on gunbroker that the price range for these is wide, $300 to $2000. I just want a shooter, but not a sporterized one. I found one in a local shop for $750, and it looked good to me, but I am not an expert on these old rifles. I have a reloader so I will reload the rounds, so ammo will not be a big problem. Thanks

My father has a 1898 springfield trapdoor in 30-40 krag, its a fun gun to shoot and if you roll ur own ammo out I would definitely get one. We were ringing steel with his at about 150 yards.

Bradis had one in their store a couple of weeks ago that looked to be in decent shape (sporterized I believe). If I remember correctly, it was $300 or less...
