Looking into something fun to shoot my .30 cal can on and I'm leaning towards a .300 BLK AR-15. I'll admit not liking the whole deal on principal considering they basically stole the idea and work from JD Jones, but at least they've got it SAMI spec'ed.
Anyways, I see that CMMG sells complete uppers for $629. They also sell barrels with the gas system installed on them for $250. I'm thinking I can add a complete upper for a hundred and a YHM free float tube for another hundred or so and use my current BCG and have an upper ready to run for about $450. Am I missing anything here? Obviously I'll have to add an optic but that's a addition no matter who I go with for an upper.
Anyone have any experience with any of the .300 Whisper/Fireball/-.221/BLK rounds in an AR? I"m always looking for good advice!
