I have new brass, small rifle primer, 2.5 gr. Trail Boss but my question is for the bullet. I have 120 gr. fn cast with gas check. Will I be ok with this heavy bullet? All I can find is for 115 gr.

    thanks again,
    Bob

    .
Should be OK, rifle or revolver? I've never used Trail Boss in either of mine so I'll be interested in your results.

The "Modern Reloading" manual by Richard Lee lists a projectile as heavy as 150grs, but does not list Trail Boss.

Trail boss is specifically low pressure so You should be ok. IMR does list 2.5 as a max load, though. The gas check will be wasted at the low velocity but it will work fine. I shoot Unique and HS-6 in my .32/20's.

I have loaded many with TB, but not this heavy. Mostly 90 and 100 gr bullets. They are for my 1906 winchester 1873. They are mild but good. 2.3 almost fills the shell because if the heavier bullet. I like them. Fun cartridge.

I use 32-20's to make other ammo.
All I can tell you is that I grew up with a six point head on the dining room wall that Mom took with a 32-20.
It was great fun to threaten the dog with (when Mom wasn't home).
