i have the chance to get a 336cs, I do not have a lever gun, and wouldnt mind having one. I guy i know said he had one he would sell. my question is whats the going price of a used one? its in good shape 336cs with safety. i just dont want to insult him nor do i want to overpay. i have not been activly looking for a lever gun, this one just fell into my lap. so whats fair on it?

I did a search but all hits were how they were only $125 in the early 90's....What have you seen or bought lately????

I sold two, 30-30, for $250 each just a few weeks ago. They can be bought and sold pretty regularly at that price through private party. Online and at the shows, $50-$75 more. For a model with rough wood or the bulueing in rough shape, $200.

Rep'd 6birds for the accurate pricing. Saw 2 at Whittaker's online with scope for $249, not sure of the condition. Good gun, I've always like Marlin's rifles. I actually won a 336CS at a raffle about 2 months ago and it is a beautiful gun.

It is really strange how the 30/30's are worth $250 and you cannot find a working model 39A (.22) for less than $400. 10 years ago I sold a 39 mountie (carbine) for $100 because my kid didn't want to shoot it any more. I wish I had kept it.
