4" 686 Plus

I'm in the Greenwood area and am getting ready to pick up my first pistol. I really like the 686 Plus, and it seems to be $850 new.

What is the typical used price on this gun, and what should I look for when buying used?

For what it is worth, I just purchased a stainless 66 with 4 inch barrel for $500. It was in very good condition.

I bought a 4" 686 + brand new from Herndons Gun and Ammo in bloomfield last fall for $679 plus tax. Last time I was in there he had one just like mine, NIB for $729. $850 is around S&W's MSRP. Look around some more.
