It would be really cool if the producers of "Alone" would donate the prize money from winning one of their shows to each of these kids.

Details emerge on how 4 Colombian children survived in Amazon jungle for 40 days after deadly plane crash

Wow, that is incredible. 13 and 9 is incredible enough, but with a 4 and 1 year old.

    Holy cow

Oh wow, just saw an update on WTHR that said the children reported that a Belgian Malinois (they said Shepherd) joined them for about 4 days. It was apparently a search dog that had gotten lost during the search and rescue operation. Unfortunately the dog is still lost.

I don't think I would have made it 40 days at home with the kids without the wife when they were 1. Never in a Jungle

I couldn't imagine what those kids went through.
All in how they were raised in that environment I think. Not only did they survive, but they also had to deal with witnessing death of their mother. Just incredible to me. I mean, some grown adults are crying and ready to be rescued after a week to 10 days on "Alone". They have no idea what real survival entails. I know I certainly don't.

Would like to read the article but only get a paragraph then "read the rest on the app"

Searched for another link and come up with this one.

Absolutely incredible they survived especially the youngest 2

You can scroll past that to see the rest of the story. It's not a requirement, just a suggestion. :): But yes, it is incredible!

That dog got the “search” part down, just needs to work on the “rescue” bit (or at least getting its own tail back home).

The story of these children surviving in the jungle is almost unbelievable. However, fact is often more intriguing than fiction. Amazingly these kids did survive and have lived to tell their tale. They need rest and food and lots of love. They are a testament to human survival and are to be commended. :wavey:

When you understand their background, this isnt quite as unbelievable as it sounds. Its still impressive. But not a miracle by any stretch. Its the difference between inner city youts being in the plane and hillbillies that spent their life playing in the woods and hunting/gathering.

The kids are indigenous peoples. They play in those jungles every day. Their father taught them the way of their people. How to forage and survive like they used to pre-modern conveniences. Yes, its still impressive, but not quite as unbelievable as it first looked.
