Well I guess if we are going with heavy rounds.
    147gr. HST 9mm CZ SP-01 19+1 = 2940gr

If you're going to go with 'heavy' rounds, I suggest you get serious about it!
    Hornady 240 grain .454 Casull at 1,900 fps, generating 1,923 ft-lbs x 6 = 11,538 ft-lbs.
Works while camping, hiking, and back-packing!

    You win lol.

Only thing that beats that takes 18rds of 10mm 200gr WFNGC Underwood ammo. 12492 ft lbs muzzle energy. It just takes 3x the rounds lol.

Here is an interesting test between 9mm and 45 Defense rounds.

    https://www.ammunitiontogo.com/lodge/barriers-and-ammo/

The problem with a lot of these is there are different sizes of firearms used.Makes it an incomplete test with the 9mm having a 3.1" barrel to the 45 4.5" barrel but

With 85% of people shot with handguns surviving pick any good quality ammo whether 9,38,40,10 or 45 357 and go with it.

Even the old 38 special with 158 LSWCHP has been stopping bad people since the 1960's
