I just joined this thread and I say hello to you all. I am excited to see what INGunowners has to offer. To start out, I have been looking for a 458 Socom or a 450 Bushmaster upper for my Rock River lower. I am thinking I will go for the Bushmaster, but not 100% sure yet. Does any one know of one of either for sale or have a strong preference for either option? Thanks fellas.

Thank RGriff69. I originally planned on buying a 458 Socomm, but changed partially changed my mind due to ammo availability and cost. I will definately keep this in mind and may decide to go this way. Thanks for your response.

    Southeast of disorder.
I have a Bushmaster brand .450 Bushmaster with a 20" barrel. Killed an 8 pointer at 175 yards this year. I put almost 100 rounds through it before the season and it ran like a champ. The only downside are the magazines.

Love my 458. She's a big girl, so she costs a lot to feed, but worth every penny.:D

Love my 458 as well just a hammer on deer, cant go wrong with either one, if you reload I way suggest 458 if you dont 450 bush would be cheaper for you as far as ammo goes.

What is your 100 yard accuracy? Do you reload your rounds and what do you pay per round? Have you had trouble finding ammo? Thanks for your response ghuns!

Love my 458 Socom. Never had it jam in 2 years. Accuracy is very good. Bonus is that it uses standard/unmodified AR15 magazines. I typically mail order my ammo, never really looked at the stores for it, but I save my brass since I also reload.

2", no problem. Probably much better than that but at 2 bucks a round, I didn't feel the need to see how much better. I have not reloaded yet, have everything to do it, just too busy at work. People seem happy with Andrew at Profire's ammo. Wilson Combat is also selling ammo for it pretty reasonably. Don't know where you're located but there's a guy that comes to gun shows up here in the northern part of the state called Rose Reloading. I have bought all of mine from him. At 2 bucks a round for 300 grain HPs, it's the best deal I have found. And more importantly, my mid-length upper likes it.

I can keep mine around 1 1/2 to 2 inches at 100 yards off the bench, that is with hand loads 300g hornaday jhp bullets over h110 powder, brass is a little hard to find but out there, recoil is not bad.Its kinda like having a 45-70 auto pretty cool deer rifle for Indiana but I wouldnt be afraid to take her bear hunting..What I liked about the 458 socom is it uses .458 bullets (rifle),vs the bushmaster .452 pistol.

I have the 450 bushmaster. I enjoy shooting it and i am pleased with its performance. I decided on the 450 because of ammo price as i am not a reloader.:ar15:

This is from my 458 while load developing with 405grain lead, it was from just fifty yards but using a four moa red dot. The flyer was my fault, after 25 rounds I get a little jumpy

Nice 4 out of 5 making nice ragged hole. Totally understand the whole "jumpy" thing.
