458 socom? able to shoot

buddy just got one and was wondering if the current approved cartrage list on the web site is up to date

as i do not see the 458 on the list

If you are referring to approved deer cartridges then the answer is yes he is, but if you are referring to Bacon no he can't ...

If it's not on the list then it's not allowed.. Mostly it's pistol and shotgun's no high powered rifles.

458 Socom is a dedicated rifle cartridge, and these are no-no's at MCF&G.

I've made more than a few pistol barrels for folks who didn't think it was dedicated to rifles.

That list on the web is NOT up to date as there were a couple of .38 cartridges added during the October meeting. They were the .38SuperComp and .38TJ.
If you want to try to get the .458Socom added to the list, get some information together and take it to a board meeting and ask. The worst they can say is no.
