5.56mm vs. .223 Remington

Any thoughts? I'm on the fence between which barrel profile I should pick up...

Which rifle? But my general recommendation is .223 for a target or varmint rifle and 5.56 for a semi-auto.

I know that the 5.56mm barrels will fire .223 ammo, so it may be a wash, since I'm not doing match shooting. This will be an occasional range rifle, most likely.

Yeah, I went ahead and got a RRA M4 upper, so both 5.56 and 223 is good for me now...

You're in Speedway, right? Where do you shoot centerfire rifle? Eagle Creek doesn't do centerfire, AFAIK.

Usually Cloverdale or down at Atterbury, depending on the weather. I haven't been to Wilbur Wright yet, but I need to head out that way. I hate paying to shoot things if I don't have to.

I would say get the 5.56 since it will fire both rounds.
