    I did end up getting a 529 through the Indiana state sponsored plan. Draft should go through any time now, if it hasn't already.

    Where do you look for a good financial advisor? Should it be a fee based advisor only so they aren't selling you stuff.

    IMO word of mouth has worked well for me. Ask around, especially older(ish) people who are heavily involved in trying to retire ;)

    I know my parents have used multiple people over the years and have found someone about 5 years ago who they REALLY like. He doubled their retirement savings in 3 years. Multiple people in my family now use the guy and all are extremely pleased.

    Only other option I would know of is the Dave Ramsey list of "ELP", 'Endorsed Local Provider". No clue if it means anything but I like Dave ;)
