Curious as to the story behind this. That was a chunk of change back then.

    .
I got a loan for a new store, and I didn’t purchase them all at once. Half of them came about six months later. I set up at the Indy 1500 with tables full of Carbines “Your Choice $125”. Of course I kept back the Irwin Peterson’s, Winchesters, un-quality, and line outs. I also would have a table of Garands “Your Choice $179.95”, but again, I kept back the early serial numbers, the Winchesters, and the IHC’s for higher priced sales. Between the 1500 and my store, I sold out of the rifles in about two years. I sure wish I had them all back, sitting in a warehouse. At about the same time, I purchased 400 WWII German Mauser 98K’s from Century arms for $50 each. They were unsearched, and I got five SS marked rifles, 20 ZF41 sniper rifles, an SS long turret sniper rifle, and dozens of rare variants. Those sure were the days
