    Hey all just looking around for some advice. does anyone have experience with a good 7 mag load with 160 gn bullet (gameking in this case). I have a very accurate load for this combo but velocity seems to be lacking. Just wondering if any one has a good accurate load at more typical velocities for the cartridge?

    You should be able to get around 2850-2900 fps with RL-22, perhaps more with RL-25.

    The internet is no substitute for proper load development. An afternoon with a chrony, hand press, and a cheap digital scale is worth far more than any bit of advice you'll get here.

    Thanks for the D.L. there rimfire. I am very well aware of how to work up a load for a rifle. Maybe I should have better stated my question? Looking for a particular powder or powders that give the most velocity as well as accuracy. I know I can just go buy 10 types of powder several hundred bullets and start working up loads and find the really good one for my rifle. However I was looking for something like. Hey out of my rifle I found X amount of Retumbo behind (whatever brand) 160gn bullet gives me X many fps and 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. Any Information would be appreciated. Obviously i'm NOT going to fill a case up with H-110 and go see what happens!

    Try Retumbo. It's designed for over-bored rifles like the 7mm Rem Mag. 2900fps should be fast enough for you.

    Data is below:

    160 GR. NOS PART
    Hodgdon Retumbo
    Bullet Dia .284"
    OAL = 3.290"

    65.0gns --> 2756fps = 43,200 CUP
    69.5Cgns --> 2915fps = 49,900 CUP
