7 years in the making! Our Adoption Story.

Getting big, my daughter has her three month check up on Monday, shot time. She should be double her birth weight if our scale at home is correct. I got initiated not too far into the adventure with projectile spit up.

Congrats to your family. He is a beautiful little boy. I have a friend that adopted a little girl from China about 2 years after my daughter was born. Every time I see these threads on INGO I have the quick desire to find my babies and give them a big hug and kiss and let them know I love them. Mine will be 11 and 8 this year. As others have said, time flies. I still remember holding my little girl 11 years ago and being scared out of my life praying I didn't break her. She is now 5'4" tall and I didn't break her. I think she broke me. I hope your little Thomas is like my son, he is attached to my hip everywhere I go. He is my little helper when I'm working on the truck, mowers and guns. He knows his way around the garage very well. Teach them everything you know, they will love it. -Jason

We got our first recruitment mailer from a university to my son today. [sigh] My goodness, time flies. I remember when we would tote him around in a pumpkin seat like that...he really didn't have a good head of hair then! Kid was completely bald...

Today was our finalization court date. We petitioned the court to have back-to-back cases, and it was granted. The first case was the termination of all birth parents rights and association. The second case was our adoption case. We are pleased to announce the little guy is officially our son! We were able to celebrate with the judge, lawyer, case worker, and several family members. It is a huge comfort and relief knowing we are officially a family!

Ladies and gentlemen, we officially have a one year old! It's been quite a year hitting the ground running. He is quite the little character. We still feel very blessed every day.

We had a packed house yesterday with everyone visiting far and wide to celebrate.
He was also very kind to his smash cake.

I thought since it was his 2nd birthday today, an update would be appropriate. We've had family stay and visit for a couple days making this sort of a weekend celebration. He gets another birthday party when the Mrs.' side of the family comes in a couple weeks from Iowa. His cousin's birthday and his are 5 days apart, so that one will be a dual celebration. All is quite well. He is a blessing every day!
