700x powder consistency

I purchased some hi-skor 700x during the ammo drought/scare during Obama’s years and just now got around to opening and using it for 45acp. I have never used this powder before and I am having difficulties with throwing consistent measurable amounts in my Dillon square deal B reloading machine. It throws within around +/- 0.1-0.3; is this to be expected or is there anything that will help? Thanks

Load away.... Its an Extruded flake powder and with that some measures will do that.
Its a shotgun powder and with a shotgun press the measure has a big dump hole.
You will never notice the .3 difference.

Loaded a lot of 38's with 700x on a Dillon 550. Load away

but I’m loading pistol rounds, 45acp... isn’t .3 bit more of a bigger deal?

Besides 38's I use it in 45acp & 45colt . I load plinking rounds with it .3 wouldn't put me over max.
I've never noticed it fluctuating that much

No worries. Load away. However try to stay with American made powder unless you live in Canada.

At that point in time it was get whatever you found on the shelves

I used to run it in my Thompson Center 30 carbine and shot many top scores in IHMSA. If there was a deviance, I never saw it downrange. 5 grains and bullets from 110-130 grains.

For the average to good shooter you ask? Nope, you will not notice it....

You have figured out 700X, pretty much just will not measure well.

I have used it in .45 Auto. If I remember correctly, it is a bit dirty. But that may have been light loads only.

Yeah, 700x is dirty. Just like Unique, red dot etc.
After a day of shooting the gun and your hands will be black

Bullseye. More loads per dollar so you can shoot more.

Tried out Bullseye 5.3gr in 45acp with RNFP cast from Missouri Bullet Company with good results.
