Flash Gordon (the soundtrack was amazing!)

"Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is among the best movies of the 80s, possibly in the top 100 of all time. It's nearly a perfect film.

"Mr. Mom" is excellent. "Uncle Buck" is excellent as well.

"Vacation" is a classic as is "Christmas Vacation".

"Ferris Buehler's Day Off" is very good.

"The Great Outdoors" is good, not great, but fun.

His "teen" movies like "The Breakfast Club", "Pretty in Pink", "Sixteen Candles", etc. were very good at the time, but didn't age well.

In fact, John Hughes had a few clunkers, but most were good, very watchable even today, movies.
