Manhattan skyline today... something's missing. How do you explain that to your son?

May God bless those who lost their lives that day.
May God bless those who have lost their lives since as we continue to fight terrorism.
And may God give us strength to continue our fight for freedom.

Public Servant is making me cry. Looking at all those photos.
A part of all of us died that day.
Yesterday my 6 year old daughter came home from school, and asked "why do people in other countries hate America?"
"What?" was my response. she caught me off guard.
"Well, my teacher said some men who hated America, crashed some planes into buildings."
ok now i figured out what she wanted to know.
"Well sweety, there are some very evil men out there. They don't like what America stands for. They hate our Freedom. They want to do everything they can to destroy America."
"Do we know who they are?"
"some of them, yes we do."
Then my 6 year old daughter made me very proud
"DAD, WHY DON'T WE JUST GO AND GET THEM, SO THEY CAN'T HURT AMERICA ANYMORE?"
"We're trying." is all i could get out.

I've been streaming tears until now. I can't hold it back any longer. God Bless you. God Bless You All for never forgetting and not letting others forget. God Bless all those lost 8 years ago today. God Bless America.

As the sun was coming up this morning I had the honor of lowering our stations flag to half staff. I get alot of different mixed up emotions and a knot in my gut when I think of that day. Im could not be any more proud to be a firefighter. Take a blow FDNY 343 we got it from here.

Something that will tug at your hearts in 2011...

They are working on several books to track the families of those who died on 9 11 2001. Its a then and now type book. I talked with a customer who is involved in the project. They have 5 books in the works. One for each impact site, and one for the military.

He shared with me the outline, its a tear jerker and uplifting at the same time.

My Marine Corps Colors came off this morning, and the Colors of the United States flies at half-mast .....saluting those we lost on that day.

Never Forget

...Both flags went back to full staff at sundown.

May God be with the families of those lost. As well as our police, firefighters, and military as they all remember and mourn the loss of loved ones due to this tragedy. May God Bless them now and in the future!
