9mm 1911

Who makes a good 9mm 1911 for under 900 bucks? I really love the 1911, but I want to keep all the pistol ammo 9mm. Anyone have any experience with a good 9mm 1911?

Kimber, Springfield, STI, and RI all make good 9mm 1911's that can be found for you price range. I have shot both the STI Spartan and RI tactical and they were great guns and well below $900.

I have a RI Tactical in .45 and I swapped with a buddy at the range recently to try his 9mm. They felt exactly the same, but a bit less recoil with his 9. For $425 it's a heck of a pistol.

I have a CASPIAN 1911 with a 4.25 inch barrel, that has excellent accuracy

I have a 9mm STI Trojan. I would highly recommend it. It will be a little over $900 but well worth it. I have also had an STI Ranger in 9mm. It is a great gun also.

My Hi-Power is 1911ish. I mean John Browning designed them both. Excellent reliablity alot of fun to shoot. I find them used at around $500

My Rock Island 1911 in 9mm has been great, it is the tactical model with Novak sights.

For the money - I think that the Taurus is a good deal. They are well made 1911s, and a quick check on Bud's shows a 9mm for $484.
