how does it do with a 9mm cartridge?

Any design, reliability or durability problems?

If it's a good quality 1911 and the barrel, ramp, etc are are properly fitted you will have no issues and accuracy will be on par with build quality.

.45, .40, 10mm, 9mm or .44 mag it doesn't matter the caliber, all 1911 have their quirks if not properly assembled.

if there is any design flaw it has been in the magazines which cause more if not all issues. Since 9mm 1911's have become popular you have a lot of higher end magazine companies making them and thus the issues have almost ceased.

on that note my Colt and SA 1911's shot great and since all the magazines were replaced no feeding issues. I've been shooting 9mm 1911's for 10+ years and let me tell ya, it wasn't fun at 1st!

My Kimber Gold Match eats anything and gets a lot of work. My standard load is 4.0 gr. of 231 and a Berry's 124 gr. hollow base flat point.. I use a 12lb. recoil spring and the setup is very accurate. yrmv

I shoot a lot of walmart ammo thru my 9mm 1911.

I used to think it took longer OAL rounds, but apparently.... it doesnt.

As far as not being able to shoot hollowpoint I have NO idea. I have never shot defensive rounds out of mine.

    Not even one.
