Nuts. Just bought a bunch of that Remington contract overrun at .19/round! Ahhhhh.

    1. Last summer I bought 3000 rounds of Perfecta for .20/round and thought I had a steal b/c I'd been buying it at the range all summer!
    2. Two cases off an individual and 1 case ordered.

How I know the gun industry is strange: Perfecta, an Italian ammo, is distributed in the USA by the Russians.

I have had good luck with government contract over runs and usually stick to the big 3, but for range ammo, I'll try just about anything.

So what about the ammo and prices in the OP post? I reload that stuff routinely for less than $6 a box on a Dillon 550. And I get to tailor each load to each of my pistols for better accuracy. Can’t beat that!

Buy buy buy! You'll shoot it eventually.

You have to be into reloading for $6/box. As in enjoy it as a hobby with in itself. $6/box is great until you factor in your time and what its worth. For me personally, I'd be saving money if I just worked a half hour of ot a week and used that to cover the difference in ammo price as opposed to spending hours reloading. I shoot on average of 1k a month. This equates to about $180 for shopping deals. Let's pretend I make $30 an hour, that's 6 hours. 1k @ $6/ box equals $120. Unless you load 500 rounds an hour, you're losing money.
If you enjoy the satisfaction of reloading, it changes everything. In which case, even if you're paying more to reload, it might still be worth it. I've tried my hand at it, loved it, moved to an apartment, now i'm stuck. lol

9mm and .223 are down there on the edge of my reloading. Casting and reloading larger or less common calibers pays off better.

This is true for me also, but i now have so much brass, powder, and primers that work for these, it's hard not to justify reloading them (i shoot less than 500 rds total in any given month).

I've seen it as low as $8 a box within the last year. I just got 2k rds of fiochi 9mm in the mail last week. I've been buying mostly fiochi because it shoots well but I won't pay much more for it over another brand.

Reply to Usmccookie: Yes, I enjoy reloading as a hobby. I love the challenge of tailoring my loads to each firearm I shoot. And I can come close to about 350-400 rounds per hour on the Dillon. My time on my Dillon is like therapy because in my work projects take forever and never seem to end. When I’m reloading and I finish a session and see a few hundred rounds sitting there and then I get to box them up and label everything I get a tremendous sense of satisfaction seeing a job completed and ready to go. The time spent and the dollar equations really don’t matter to me. What matters is the sense of satisfaction and the good mood I’m in when finished. Peace. Out!

I've been buying 9mm fmj Blazer Brass for $0.18/ round (boxes of 1000). I just order when they offer free shipping.
They flow smoothly through my Taurus PT 111 G2.
Glad I bought 4K rounds before they start charging sales tax on internet orders.

Same here. .40 has entered that stage as well as long as I can get it for $10.50 a box. .45 and 10mm are the main handgun rounds I reload now days.
