9mm in G22 + G27

Is this true?

G22 can shoot 9mm with a G17 barrel and G17 magazine
AND
G27 can shoot 9mm with a G26 barrel and G26 magazine


If so, why don't people make a bigger deal out it? This sounds too good to be true.

It's just a value added benefit to owning a GLOCK.
I have yet to get a conversion barrel for my G27, but plan to at some point.

Yes, you can get conversion barrels to drop in and convert it to shoot 9mm. and change out the mags. Some people prefer to change the extractor as well.

Anways, the reason people do not make a bigger deal is that you then only have one gun...sure it can shoot two different calibers, but you have one gun....

I would prefer to buy one of each if I wanted to shoot both

You cannot use a G17 barrel in a G22. You need a conversion barrel to shoot 9mm out of your G22 or G27.

You can, however, use 9mm mags with your G22 or G27 even after the conversion to 9mm; no need for G22 mags.

there are several manufacturers other than Glock whose aftermarket support caliber change barrels.
