So how far back does the sell out go? beyond Clinton? all the way to Nixon?

I believe Nixon was one of the earliest to set up the country for failure.

    What do you think?

Not that I'm saying he could see the future. I am saying with 20/20 hind sight a lot of what we are expiriencing as a country can be traced to this as at the very least, a first step down the road to where we are now.

A big part of that was the big spending left over from LBJs Great Society nonsense, and, of course, the Vietnam War. Bread went from 10 cents to a dollar a loaf overnight, Coca-Cola went from a dime a bottle (with 5 cent deposit) to 30 cent non-returnables overnight. The price of everything skyrocketed despite Nixon's wage and price controls (now there was some real government overreaching).

    ROTFL, ok.

What is Obama's problem now if the previous administrations ridiculous spending of money they didn't have was Nixon's?

What is the next governor of Indiana gonna do following Mitch after he's sold off every thing that wasn't nailed down?

Nixon cut the strings between the dollar and anything of real tangible value. Making the dollar essentially nothing but a paper IOU backed by nothing but the government of the country's word and thin air. Every politicion since has taken advantage of that to rob the country of it's value. Sneaking in to your savings account and under your mattress to rob, steal and pillage your life's value. Republican and democrat alike.

This. +1 to you sir. At some point in the past, getting elected to office stopped meaning that a candidate would try to do a good job and started meaning "license to steal". Holding high office has become a carreer path to power rather than the sacred trust that it should be.
