I have a heavy barrel Marlin bolt action that is a really good shooter. They are not very expensive. The Savage with the Accu-trigger is very nice for the money too.

A friend of mine bought the Savage and hated it. He bought the Marlin later and loved it. He said he was shooting all over the board with the Savage. This is all second hand information though. Take it for what its worth.

Absolute tack driver..... nice crisp trigger with no creep and adjustable. Just makes me shake my head everytime I take this one out. Most accurate gun in the safe.

I have a marlin 17vs and love it. Less expensive than many out there and pretty accurate. I consistantly shoot moa with 17g hornady ammo. 7 round magazine cap. Lots of fun.

I have a Ruger 77/17 that is also a fantastic tack driver. What really is nice is that real mags are available for it, as in 25 rounds!
