The trigger appears to be all the way back, with the hammer all the way forward. I suspect the chamber was empty for the entire incident.

That's how a PPK looks when decocked. She would need to disengage the safety, then the trigger would be forward. So, perhaps, she had it safe... but still loaded.

Supposedly there is video proof the gate was intact as the lawyers were busy pointing guns. I didnt think at the time to bother clicking the link to the video. But I believe its to imply that somebody did damage after the fact to give the couple cover.

Or the video is from more peaceful folks at the head of the protest, and later entrants broke it on the way by.

The video on twitter linked further up shows how one guy smashed the gate and then the rest of the crowd goes thru the open gate.
