Considering the forend was destroyed and looking atthe shrinkage of the buttstock I would say this gun got way too hot to ever be considered safe to shoot.
There was a series of articles a while back in SWAT magazine (I believe) regarding restoring firearms after a fire.
If I remember correct, one of the editors had a fire at his house and lost several in his collection. They were eventually restored and he has since used them in a couple of training courses.
It can be done, but it has to be done right. That's usually the expensive part.
Yeah, unless you want to drop some serious coin I think you're boned if you want a shooter. It'd make a nice wall hanger and you could pick up some good gunsmithing skills along the way.
