My 10 year old grandson bagged his 1st Rooster at put/take today, a few years from now when we are in Kansas or the Dakotas on wild birds we will remember this as the beginning.

My daughter was 12yo when I took her to her first pheasant hunt(put-n-take)--we havent missed a year hunting together --she is now 30something(grin)--I do cherish our times together in the field---- and watching my German Shorthair Pointers

Looks like you have a couple great hunting buddies there. Teaching a kid to hunt is the best. I started my son out at that age. He is 16 now and we hunted quail all day yesterday. He can hunt with the best of them. BTW: Nice Setter.

The put and take hunt is a good time. We were there Wednesday morning and had the place to ourselves and one other hunter. We each got our 2 birds but didn't see many other than those.
