this is a question for shooter, when you did the review of the Battlecomp compensator what tools did you use to get the A2 off? some say to use an upper receiver vise block but is this really needed?

In the field, we just used an adjustable crescent wrench. When I'm working on guns at the shop, I use the upper rec. vise blocks, and a proper AR armorer's wrench.

so does it make that much difference? I will be installing one, would it be worth buying the proper tools just for that?

Installing ONE? No. Installing multiples, installing/reinstalling on a regular basis, or installing a device that requires a lot of force and/or proper timing, probably.
thats what I thought, just wanted to get an opinion from someone with more experience than I, thank you very much you have been a great help.
