Know nothing about AAA... But my wife and I are with Liberty Mutual for both home & auto; no complaints so far...and we're smack-dab in the middle of a hail-damage roof claim. Also went through a car accident that totaled out my car.

We use Progressive insurance and the wife and i like it as such as you can like insurance.

When we had out previous insurance we had an issue and our previous insurance was unwilling to help us, but when my wife called Progressive they helped us as much as they could even though we were not even their customers.

I have a couple of Life policies with AAA and calls to their customer service have been fine. I think their life customer service is in Ft Wayne.

No experience with property or car. I had GEICO for five years and they have been fine.

Hey American Family Canceled me because I had a "Dangerous Breed" dog! So I'm now with State Farm...Hope I don't have to change again. My Dangerous dog is a ball of fur Named "Buttercup", breed Chow. And her bark is a lot worse than than her bite! ;)

I've had auto and home insurance through AAA for the last 6 years. The only time I had to use the home was after the hurricane winds a few years ago, and I was very pleased. Haven't used the auto myself, but my wife has, with no complaints. :yesway:

Which is why you don't tell your ins. company that you have a dog!

Get the dog AFTER the policy is in effect!

I agree that State Farm is (insert expletive here). I've got Progressive now for 6 years. No complaints and they are fairly helpful (for an insurance company).

Stay the hell away from AAA. The wife was rear-ended on June 1st, car was finally declared totaled on June 24th. Now, we have been fighting to get fair value for our vehicle ever since. Keep in mind, AAA is OUR insurance company, not the responsible party's. We are a good $1,900 away from their number to get a settlement established so I am now going straight to the other insurance company and leaving AAA out of it. I was told in my original conversation to be honest with the total loss specialist and have since been accused of dishonesty twice. I will pay twice as much to another insurance company to avoid this type of crap. As soon as this is settled, we are finding a different insurance company and urging as many friends and family members to do the same.

I have state farm. when my 2002 BMW 530I was rear ended they claims rep asked if I would be driving it to the repair shop. I told him that I would feel better if it was towed since the rear bumper was pushed against both rear tires and did not want to make a 1 hour drive to the shop. He argued with me about going to work (less then .5 miles from the house.) I asked him if he liked his pay check and wanted me to keep working so I could support his check or not. After that butthead I was assigned a new claims rep that was more then understanding and very helpful.

My first wreck with my 2002 BMW 330 CI Msport went alot smoother. I have found with state farm you need to let them know real quick your not putting up with their stuff... not sure how it is with other companies though.

I've always been with State Farm. My parents were with State Farm. I've never had any problems with them other than rates going up each year a few dollars which may or may not occur else where. It's such a pain to switch companies because there's a lot of work involved. That goes for banking, cable, phone, etc... It's fine if you have the time to do so.

Sorry to hear you have problems with State Farm. Most of the time, I go through my local guy though if I need anything.

As a former independent claims adjuster I would suggest to anyone around here to check out your independent agent and ask about Indiana Farmers Mutual. They have about the best claims policy I've encountered.
Also on my personal good list are: Geico, Western Reserve and State Auto
Perinially on my S***list are State Farm and All State as well as USAA. but for diferent reasons. USAA is great with most of their customers but they will drive a claims person nuts. They micro manager everything demand the undable and then don't pay your bill.

    Just my thoughts.
